Cooper has had an amazing day today. He has been taken out of his oxygen bubble and is breathing well with regular room air. His blood sugar levels have been stabilized, and they are slowly weening him off of the sugary water he had in his IV. He has gotten a feeding tube and is starting to get breast milk and formula through the tube.
Chelsea finally got to hold baby Cooper for the first time. It has been so strange to be separated like that for 2 days. Cooper did so well being held. He's been calm and restful, just keeps working on his breathing.
We are very optimistic about all of Cooper's progress. The doctors and nurses have been taking good care of him here, and we are excited to see what he can do tomorrow.
Thanks for all the messages and words of support.
Congratulations Chelsea and Tom! Cooper is precious. Hope he continues to improve quickly and that mom is feeling good as well!
